The longlist for the 2024 Sunday Times’ annual literary awards for non-fiction and fiction is here!
This is the 21st year of the Sunday Times fiction prize. The criteria stipulate that the winning novel should be one of “rare imagination and style … a tale so compelling as to become an enduring landmark of contemporary fiction”.
We are excited to celebrate with Sihle Qwabe, one of our previous years’ participants in the Bosberg Book Writing mentorships, as he has made the longlist for fiction with his novel, The Resurrection.

Sihle Qwabe was born in a small village in KwaZulu-Natal and now lives in Johannesburg where he works in retail. He holds a diploma in public relations. In 2021 he was chosen as one of only four candidates to participate in the Jakes Gerwel Foundation’s writing mentorship programme. The Resurrection is his first novel.
Congratulations and good luck Sihle! We look forward to your continued success!
