Seen taking the 5km Somerset East parkrun in their stride last Saturday were none other than NATi Jong Sterre 2023, Geralt Cloete, Miché van Wyk, Miliswa Mbandazayo and Mikayla Brown, their mentor acclaimed theatre-maker Lee-Ann van Rooi and the one and only Paulet House chef, Gilbert van Zyl.
The community parkrun which takes place every Saturday at 8 am at the Somerset East Golf Club, Bestershoek is no walk / jog / run / stroll in the park as the course consists entirely of trail paths.
So here they are:
- NATi Risings Stars is the development project which is presented annually by the Jakes Gerwel Foundation, National Afrikaans Theatre Initiative (NATi). Suidoosterfees and Artscape. Miliswa, Mikayla, Cara, Miché and Geralt are currently busy refining their plays under the mentorship of acclaimed theatre-maker Lee-Ann van Rooi. Their plays will premiere at the 21st Suidoosterfees at Artscape in Cape Town in 2024.
