2022 in Review: The PEN Residents … Part 1

Mphuthumi Ntabeni (author PEN South Africq), Mia Arderne (author PEN South Africa), Emma Crebolder (poet PEN Nederland), Elodi Troskie (poet PEN Afrikaans), Naomi Meyer (author PEN Afrikaans) and Loit Sols (poet PEN Afrikaans).

This was the first time that the Jakes Gerwel Foundation / PEN Afrikaans opened up the month-long winter residency to two other PEN centres. And what a success it was having six writers at Paulet House who between them spoke at least 12 languages. They not only worked on their own projects but took time to explore their surroundings and thought deeply about their experience in residency.

These are their stories.
